Overview
This is a hands-on role for a practical, safety-focused Site Fitter who wants more than routine site work. You will install, service and commission mechanical equipment on critical water and wastewater projects nationwide, gaining exposure to varied sites and technologies. You will be supported with structured training, clear career pathways and the chance to grow long-term within a stable, future-proof sector where your work has visible impact every day.
Responsibilities
- Install, service and commission mechanical water treatment equipment on site
- Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly to engineering drawings and standards
- Work safely in confined spaces, at height and in live operational environments
- Identify and resolve on-site issues efficiently and professionally
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and quality compliance
- Support continuous improvement and best working practices
- Communicate effectively with site teams and supervisors
- Build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
Qualifications & Requirements
- Mechanical fitting or hands-on engineering experience
- Background within water, utilities or process engineering preferred
- Strong health and safety awareness
- Willingness to travel UK-wide and stay away up to four nights per week
- Positive, reliable and proactive approach to work
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Basic IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Full UK driving licence
- Relevant tickets or NVQ desirable, with training provided
