People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our busy client based in Swindon. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression. This role is ideal for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for consistent night work. The role is travelling from Swindon to Coventry, drop and reload then return to site.

Shifts:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 20:30 – finish

Pay Rate:

  • £18.25 per hour (Monday to Friday)

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Class 1 deliveries and trunking work
  • Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
  • Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
  • Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
  • Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills:

  • Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
  • Minimum of twelve months' experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
  • Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  • Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience driving commercial vehicles

Training:

  • Driver assessment required prior to starting
