People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Sawmill Operative / Yard Operative – South Cerney to join our well-established client based in South Cerney.
This is a fantastic hands-on opportunity offering ongoing work, a temp-to-perm opportunity and an increased rate of pay once permanent. This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a Labourer, Production Operative, Warehouse Operative, Site Worker or Yard Operative, although full training will be provided.

Shifts:
Monday to Thursday: 7:00am - 6:00pm
As a Sawmill Operative / Yard Operative, you will receive:

Your duties as a Sawmill Operative / Yard Operative will include:
- Assisting with the processing of timber through the sawmill
- Loading and unloading timber and materials
- Feeding timber into machinery safely and efficiently once trained
- Stacking and preparing finished timber for storage or dispatch
- Checking timber for quality and ensuring products meet the required standards
- Keeping the yard and work areas clean, tidy and organised
- Working as part of a team to meet daily production requirements
- Working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
As a Sawmill Operative / Yard Operative, you will need:
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work
- Prepared to work in a busy industrial environment
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Previous experience as a Labourer, Production Operative, Warehouse Operative, Site Worker or Yard Operative would be advantageous but is not essential.
Training Provided:
- Full industry-related training provided
- Training on the safe use and operation of sawmill machinery
