People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Milton Keynes on a temporary, ongoing basis. This role would suit applicants who have previously worked in a role as a LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or Lorry Driver.

Shifts

  • Monday to Friday
  • Early and late runs available

Rates of Pay

  • £18.00 per hour (early/days)
  • £20.00 per hour (lates/nights)

Day-to-Day Duties

  • Operating and driving Category C vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
  • Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo as required

Essential Skills

  • A valid UK Category C licence
  • A minimum of two years' experience driving Category C vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
  • A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
  • A good level of spoken and written English
  • Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
  • A good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Strong communication skills

Desirable Experience

  • Experience driving commercial vehicles
  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience

Training

  • Driver's assessment must be completed
  • A paid induction will follow successful assessment
