People Solutions are currently recruiting for an EC&I Electrical Site Technician to join our well-established engineering client based in Wolverhampton on a full-time permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a highly regulated engineering environment, supporting electrical, control and instrumentation (EC&I) installation, testing and commissioning activities across the UK.

Day-to-day duties:
- Electrical installation, maintenance and repair of EC&I systems and equipment
- Control panel assembly and wiring, along with field wiring activities
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, GA drawings and wiring diagrams
- Installation, glanding and termination of multicore, copper and fibre optic cables
- Carrying out electrical testing including insulation resistance, earth bonding and point-to-point checks
- Supporting system power-up, functionality testing and commissioning alongside engineers
- Working closely with site managers, design engineers and commissioning teams
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with site safety procedures and engineering standards
Essential skills:
- Proven experience working with EC&I systems within an engineering or industrial environment
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, GA drawings and wiring diagrams
- Experience with cable installation, glanding and termination (multicore, copper and fibre optic)
- Knowledge of electrical testing procedures including insulation resistance and earth bonding
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
Desirable experience:
- Previous experience supporting commissioning activities on site
- Experience working within regulated or heavy engineering environments
- Familiarity with control panel assembly and instrumentation systems
Training:
- Ongoing technical development and training will be provided to support your career progression
