People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our well-established client based in Swindon. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, overtime opportunities, and genuine long-term career progression within a professional and supportive transport environment.
This role would also suit candidates who have previously worked as a Class 2 HIAB Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, HIAB Driver, Category C Driver, Multi Drop Driver, or Lorry Loader Driver.
To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 24 months' continuous Category C driving experience.
Shifts- Working 5 days out of 7 (rota provided)
- Start times available from 07:00am, 08:00am, and 11:00am
- Ongoing full-time work
- Flexible shift patterns available
- Basic Rate β Β£17.18 per hour
- Overtime after 8 hours β Β£25.77 per hour
- Saturday β Β£25.77 per hour
- Sunday β Β£34.36 per hour
- Bank Holiday β Β£34.36 per hour

As an HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Delivering building materials and home improvement products to customer locations
- Operating Category C vehicles safely and efficiently
- Operating a HIAB/lorry-mounted crane safely and effectively
- Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift
- Ensuring all loads are secured correctly before transport
- Adhering to all traffic laws and transport regulations
- Using PDA systems to manage deliveries and paperwork
- Communicating effectively with transport teams and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
- Assisting with loading and unloading where required
To be successful as an HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver, you will need:
- A valid UK Category C Driving Licence
- A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- A valid HIAB (ALLMI) Qualification Card
- A minimum of 24 months' continuous Class 2 driving experience
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
- No major endorsement codes
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good spoken and written English
- Good timekeeping and punctuality
- A strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Confidence using PDA systems
Previous commercial driving experience would be beneficial, previous multi-drop delivery experience would be advantageous, and previous experience delivering building materials would be desirable.
Training ProvidedSix-hour online training must be completed prior to assessment, driver assessment required before starting, on-the-job training provided following successful assessment, ongoing industry-related training and support.
