CHEMICAL MANUFACTURING OPERATIVE – WIGAN

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Chemical Manufacturing Operative to join our well-established client based in Wigan.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering stable working hours, ongoing training, and long-term opportunities within a specialist chemical manufacturing environment.

This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a Chemical Operative, Production Operative, Process Operative, Mixing Operative or Manufacturing Operative.

Shifts

β€’ Monday to Friday
β€’ 06:00 – 15:00

Rates of Pay

β€’ Β£13.25 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Chemical Manufacturing Operative, your duties will include:

β€’ Mixing chemicals within IBCs in line with company procedures
β€’ Reading, understanding, and following detailed work instructions accurately
β€’ Monitoring and inspecting chemical mixes throughout the process to ensure quality standards are maintained
β€’ Understanding and working with pH levels and viscosity requirements
β€’ Pumping mixes from IBCs into holding tanks safely and efficiently
β€’ Thoroughly cleaning down equipment and production lines between mixes
β€’ Wearing all required PPE including full suits and respirators where necessary
β€’ Using Counterbalance/Flexi trucks daily to move chemicals and completed mixes
β€’ Following all COSHH, Health & Safety, and site procedures at all times

Essential Skills

To be successful as a Chemical Manufacturing Operative, you will need:

β€’ Previous experience mixing chemicals within a manufacturing or production environment
β€’ Experience following detailed work instructions and formulas accurately
β€’ Good understanding of COSHH regulations, pH levels, and viscosity
β€’ Understanding of line cleaning and contamination prevention between mixes
β€’ An in-date Counterbalance licence
β€’ Knowledge of warning labels and general chemical safety procedures
β€’ Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

Desirable Experience

β€’ Flexi licence preferred but not essential
β€’ Availability for an immediate start would be advantageous

Training Provided

β€’ Full company policy and procedure training provided
β€’ Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
