People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Chemical Manufacturing Operative to join our well-established client based in Wigan. This is a fantastic opportunity offering stable working hours, ongoing training, and long-term opportunities within a specialist chemical manufacturing environment.
This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a Chemical Operative, Production Operative, Process Operative, Mixing Operative or Manufacturing Operative.
Shifts- Monday to Friday
- 06:00 – 15:00
- £13.25 per hour
As a Chemical Manufacturing Operative, you will receive:

As a Chemical Manufacturing Operative, your duties will include:
- Mixing chemicals within IBCs in line with company procedures
- Reading, understanding, and following detailed work instructions accurately
- Monitoring and inspecting chemical mixes throughout the process to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Understanding and working with pH levels and viscosity requirements
- Pumping mixes from IBCs into holding tanks safely and efficiently
- Thoroughly cleaning down equipment and production lines between mixes
- Wearing all required PPE including full suits and respirators where necessary
- Using Counterbalance/Flexi trucks daily to move chemicals and completed mixes
- Following all COSHH, Health & Safety, and site procedures at all times
To be successful as a Chemical Manufacturing Operative, you will need:
- Previous experience mixing chemicals within a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience following detailed work instructions and formulas accurately
- Good understanding of COSHH regulations, pH levels, and viscosity
- Understanding of line cleaning and contamination prevention between mixes
- An in-date Counterbalance licence
- Knowledge of warning labels and general chemical safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Flexi licence preferred but not essential
- Availability for an immediate start would be advantageous
