People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Widnes, Cheshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression. This role is ideal for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for consistent day-shift work.
Shifts
- Monday to Friday (weekend work available)
- AM starts between 04:00 – 08:00
Rates of Pay
- £17.00 per hour (Monday to Friday)
- £18.00 per hour (Weekends)

Day-to-Day Duties
- Class 1 multi-drop deliveries
- Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
- Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
- Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
- Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
- Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Essential Skills
- Valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence
- Minimum of 12 months' experience driving C+E vehicles
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
- Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- Good spoken and written English
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
- Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
- Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
Training Provided
- Driver assessment required prior to starting
- One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
- Ongoing industry-related training and support
