People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Manchester, Newton Heath. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity offering great rates of pay, consistent work, and a professional working environment throughout the busy peak period. This role would suit applicants who have previously worked in a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts:
- Starts between 21:00 – 01:00
- 4 on 4 off
- Overtime available
Rates of Pay:
- £19.94 per hour
- £21.38 per hour for hours worked between 22:00 – 04:00

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Safely and efficiently operating Category CE vehicles
- Delivering food products to RDCs
- Ensuring all loads are safely secured
- Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Reporting any vehicle defects or issues to management
- Completing deliveries in a timely and professional manner
- Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or issues
- Complying with all driving regulations and working time directives
- Completing all required paperwork accurately
Essential Skills:
- A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
- A minimum of one year's experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver
- A valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no IN10, DR10, or DD10 codes)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Desirable Experience:
- More than one year of Class 1 driving experience
Training:
- Ongoing support from the transport and recruitment team
- Full briefing on site procedures and delivery routes
