People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Steel Delivery Driver to join our well-established client based in Kingswinford, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, weekly pay and immediate starts with a well-established business.
This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as a Steel Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Steel Delivery Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Rates of Pay:
- £17.50 – £19.00 per hour DOE
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Delivering steel products safely and efficiently
- Operating and driving Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles
- Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
- Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
- Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues to management
- Assisting with loading and unloading where required
- Completing paperwork accurately and on time
Essential Skills:
- Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
- Minimum 18 months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
- Valid Driver CPC Card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences
- No major endorsement codes
- Mandatory previous experience transporting steel
- Good spoken and written English
- Strong understanding of load security and road safety
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
- Experience securing steel loads
Training Provided:
- Industry-related training provided
- Ongoing support throughout the assignment
