People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Steel Driver to join our well-established client based in Wednesbury, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and genuine opportunities to grow and progress.

- Monday to Friday
- Start times between 04:00 – 07:00

- £18.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
- Delivering steel products (previous steel experience is mandatory)
- Operating and driving Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently
- Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
- Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo as required
Essential Skills
- Valid UK Category CE driving licence
- Minimum of 12 month's experience driving Category CE vehicles
- Valid UK Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsement codes
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Punctual with excellent time-keeping
- Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
- Mandatory previous experience working with and transporting steel
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training Provided
- Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout
