People Solutions are currently recruiting for a CNC Manufacturing Engineer to join our well-established client based in Irlam. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and genuine room to grow and progress within a forward-thinking engineering business.
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday
- 08:00 – 16:30 (flexibility available)
Salary:
- From £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes, machining centres, and CNC routers
- Planning machining processes by reviewing work orders, engineering drawings, and materials
- Interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
- Entering and editing ISO programs including zero/reference points, offsets, and tool registers
- Calculating machining requirements using mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry
- Setting up machines including chucks, collets, vices, vacuum beds, trunnions, tools, and attachments
- Verifying first-run parts and ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Troubleshooting machining processes and adjusting/reprogramming controls where necessary
- Sharpening and replacing worn tooling
- Completing preventive maintenance and reporting faults
- Maintaining accurate documentation using job cards, timesheets, or SAP systems
- Following all health and safety regulations
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Occasional travel to UK sites and Romania if required
Essential Skills:
- Ability to read, understand, and edit ISO programs for turning and milling
- Strong technical engineering knowledge including reading engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience selecting appropriate tooling and inserts
- Experience programming and setting CNC machinery
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Experience:
- FANUC milling and/or turning experience
- Doosan EZ Guide programming experience
- Edgecam software experience
- 5-axis milling experience
- Driven tool turning experience
- Experience machining composites
- Prototrak programming experience
Training Provided:
- Industry-related training with ongoing support throughout
