People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to join our well-established client based in Swindon, Wiltshire. This role would suit candidates who have previously worked as a Transport Coordinator, Logistics Planner or Transport Administrator and have a strong understanding of transport compliance and fleet operations.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 11:00 - 20:00

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Planning and coordinating daily vehicle movements and driver schedules across the UK
- Ensuring fleet utilisation is efficient, cost-effective, and meets operational requirements
- Monitoring driver hours, tachograph compliance, and transport KPIs
- Maintaining accurate transport records, servicing schedules, and compliance documentation
- Supporting route optimisation to improve efficiency and service levels
- Assisting with fleet maintenance planning, MOT scheduling, and defect reporting
- Liaising with drivers and internal teams to ensure smooth day-to-day transport operations
Essential Skills:
- Previous experience in a Transport Planner, Transport Coordinator, or similar logistics position
- Strong understanding of drivers' hours regulations, tachograph requirements, and transport compliance
- Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge of Operator Licence (O-Licence) compliance
- Previous experience within a 3PL or multi-customer transport operation
- Experience supporting fleet maintenance and compliance processes
