People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Trainee Fitter to join our client based in Wednesbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is hands-on, practical and keen to learn a trade, with full training provided to develop your skills and progress into a fully trained fitted bedroom installer. This is a temporary to permanent position for the right candidate.

This role would suit candidates who have previously worked as a Fitting Assistant, Manufacturing Operative or Assembly Operative.

Rates of Pay: Β£12.71 per hour

Shift Pattern: As a Trainee Fitter, you will work:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 7:00am – 2:00pm

40 hours per week

Day-to-Day Duties: Your duties as a Trainee Fitter are:

  • Assisting experienced fitters with installations
  • Learning how to measure rooms accurately
  • Cutting materials to the required sizes
  • Preparing materials and tools for installations
  • Installing fitted bedrooms in customers' homes
  • Loading and unloading materials
  • Driving to customer locations as required
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Developing practical skills to become a fully trained fitter

Essential Skills: To be successful as a Trainee Fitter, you will need:

  • To be practical and enjoy working with your hands
  • To be reliable, punctual and hardworking
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • To be comfortable working in customers' homes
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • A full UK driving licence

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous fitting experience
  • Previous assembly experience

Training: Full training provided, on-the-job training alongside experienced fitters, ongoing support and development, training to become a fully qualified fitted bedroom installer.
