People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Trade Counter Salesperson to join our well-established client based in Backwell, Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity offering part-time hours, weekly pay, and the opportunity to develop your experience within a supportive and professional environment.
This role would suit candidates with experience as a Trade Counter Salesperson, Trade Counter Assistant, Sales Assistant, Customer Service Advisor, Timber Merchant Assistant, Builders Merchant Assistant, Retail Sales Assistant, or Branch Assistant.
Shifts:
- Monday, Tuesday and Friday
- 6 hours per day
- Occasional Saturdays may be required during the winter months
Rates of Pay:
- £12.71 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Serving customers and providing exceptional customer service
- Handling transactions accurately and professionally
- Dealing with email and telephone enquiries
- Resolving customer queries efficiently
- Supporting stock control and replenishment activities
- Assisting with the sale of timber and building products
- Ensuring the store remains clean, organised, and visually appealing
- Maintaining excellent product knowledge and promoting products where appropriate
Essential Skills:
- Previous experience within a trade counter, timber merchant, or builders merchant environment is preferred
- Knowledge of timber products is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good numeracy skills
- Confident, professional, and well-presented manner
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
Desirable Experience:
- Previous sales experience within a merchant or retail environment
- Experience using stock control or till systems
Training Provided:
- Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
