People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity, offering competitive pay rates and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
Shifts: Working days between Monday - Sunday: start times between 04:00 – 06:00
Benefits include:

Rates of pay:
- Monday to Friday (Days): £17.50 per hour
- Saturday: £20.50 per hour
- Sunday: £23.50 per hour
Day-to-day duties:
- Shunting 45ft and double-deck trailers onto allocated bays
- Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
- Carrying out daily yard checks in line with site rules and health and safety guidelines
- Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
- Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Covering trunking routes when required
Essential skills:
- A valid UK Category CE licence
- A minimum of 2 years' experience driving and shunting
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
- A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
- Good spoken and written English
- Punctuality and strong time-keeping skills
- A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Excellent communication skills, as you will liaise with both transport and warehouse teams (radio use is essential)
Desirable experience:
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Training: A driver’s assessment must be completed before starting.
