People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Hiab Driver - Brick Grab to join our well-established client based in Hermiston Gait Edinburgh. This is a fantastic opportunity offering competitive pay rates and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a valid grab HIAB licence.

Shifts: Monday to Friday: 07.00 - 16.30

Pay Rate: £16.25 - £18.00 per hour

Day-to-day duties:

  • Delivering building materials to construction sites
  • Operating and driving Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
  • Using a HIAB/lorry-mounted crane in a safe and efficient manner
  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all Freight is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
  • Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required

Essential skills:

  • A valid grab HIAB licence - Brick Grab
  • A valid UK Category C licence, CPC card, and Digi card
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
  • The ability to use a PDA (personal digital assistant)
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Punctuality and strong time-keeping skills
  • A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team

Desirable experience:

  • Previous commercial driving experience (beneficial but not essential)
  • Previous multi-drop experience (beneficial but not essential)

Training: Training will be provided on your first day, with ongoing support throughout.
