People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Rugby, Warwickshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent hourly rates and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday – 06:00 to 15:00
- Optional Saturday – 06:00 to 11:00
Rates of Pay:
£17.30 per hour (basic)

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Working on a schedule of Skip or RoRo jobs, all within a 45-minute drive from the Rugby operating centre
- Operating and driving Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
- Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
Essential Skills:
- A valid UK Category C licence
- A minimum of 2 years' experience driving Category C vehicles
- No more than six penalty points (minor infringements only)
- A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
- Good spoken and written English
- Punctuality and excellent time-keeping
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
- Experience with Skip and RoRo vehicles
Desirable Experience:
- Previous commercial driving experience
- Knowledge of Rugby, Coventry, and surrounding areas
Training Provided:
- Driver assessment must be completed before starting
- Training provided on RoRo or Skip if you are only familiar with one system
