People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Payroll Assistant to join our well-established client based in Oldham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll Assistant or Payroll Administrator with strong payroll and accounts experience looking to join a busy finance team within a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will support both payroll and finance functions, ensuring accurate processing of weekly and monthly payroll alongside assisting with journals, nominal coding, recharges and general accounts duties. This role would suit candidates with previous experience as a Payroll Assistant, Payroll Administrator, Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Payroll & Accounts Coordinator.

Please note – this is an immediate requirement.

Shifts:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 08:00 – 16:00

Salary:

  • £30,000 – £32,000 per year depending on experience

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Processing weekly hourly paid payroll and monthly salaried payroll
  • Supporting payroll administration and maintaining accurate employee records
  • Posting payroll journals and assisting with nominal ledger duties
  • Processing recharges and supporting finance administration tasks
  • Assisting with accounts and payroll reconciliation duties
  • Ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance at all times
  • Supporting the wider finance and payroll team with day-to-day administration
  • Using Staffology payroll system for payroll processing and reporting

Essential Skills:

  • Previous payroll experience processing hourly and monthly payroll
  • Experience with payroll journals, nominal codes and recharge duties
  • Accounts or finance administration experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good Excel and systems knowledge
  • Ability to work accurately within deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a team

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience using Staffology payroll software
  • Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment

Training Provided:

  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
