People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Crick, Northamptonshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent pay rates, consistent work, and genuine opportunities for long-term progression within a professional logistics environment.
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday or Monday to Saturday
- Start times between 02:00 – 04:00
Rates of Pay:
- Monday to Friday – £16.00 per hour
- Saturday – £19.00 per hour
- Sunday – £20.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Shunting trailers on and off bays using a Terberg unit
- Carrying out daily yard checks in compliance with site and H&S procedures
- Safely and efficiently operating Class 1 vehicles
- Ensuring all loads are secure and correctly positioned before movement
- Completing all relevant paperwork accurately
- Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
- Adhering to all traffic laws, site rules, and company policies
Essential Skills:
- Valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence
- Minimum 12 months' experience driving C+E vehicles
- Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsements)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Good spoken and written English
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience working in a shunting or yard-based HGV role
Training Provided:
- Paid site induction and driving assessment required before start
- Full industry-related training and ongoing support provided
