People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based at East Midlands Gateway, Derbyshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering competitive rates of pay, consistent Monday to Friday work, and the chance to secure a permanent position with a respected logistics company.

Shifts: Monday to Friday – Start times between 15:00 – 16:30
Pay Rates: £16.66 – £20.82 per hour

Rates of Pay

• 06:00 – 18:00: £16.66 per hour
• 18:00 – 06:00: £20.82 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

• Safely and efficiently drive Category C+E vehicles, completing 3–5 trunk runs per day
• Operate curtain-sider trailers and secure all loads correctly (including awkward loads)
• Make timely deliveries to various destinations
• Communicate effectively with the transport team
• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
• Ensure compliance with all driving laws and working time directives

Essential Skills

• Valid UK Category C+E Licence
• Valid UK CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum of six months' continuous experience driving Class 1 (C+E) vehicles
• Maximum of six penalty points for minor infringements (no major endorsement codes)
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Professional and reliable attitude

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience securing and strapping abnormal loads
• Experience manoeuvring in tight delivery depots

Training Provided

• Driving assessment required prior to start
• Three-day company induction programme provided
• Full industry-related training and ongoing support throughout
