Wood Machinist / Joiner / Furniture Maker – Swindon People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Wood Machinist / Joiner / Furniture Maker to join our well-established client based in Swindon .
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and skilled team within a busy frame-making workshop, producing high-quality furniture frames for upholstery customers.
Offering a salary of £28,288 - £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience), this role provides long-term stability, a supportive working environment, and the opportunity to work on bespoke, handcrafted products.
This role would suit candidates with experience as a Wood Machinist, Bench Joiner, Joiner, Furniture Maker, Carpenter, Cabinet Maker, Woodworker, Joinery Operative, or Timber Machinist.

- Ongoing training and career development Day-to-Day Duties As a Wood Machinist / Joiner / Furniture Maker , your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Manufacturing bespoke wooden furniture frames to customer specifications
- Producing repeat frame orders in low volumes alongside one-off bespoke pieces
- Carrying out antique frame copying and restoration work where required
- Operating a range of traditional and modern woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
- Assembling wooden frames using traditional and modern joinery techniques
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, and fitting timber components accurately
- Working with quality hardwoods to produce high-standard finished products
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
- Following all health and safety procedures and company standards Essential Skills
- Previous experience as a Wood Machinist, Joiner, Carpenter, Furniture Maker, Cabinet Maker, Timber Machinist, or in a similar role
- Confident operating traditional and modern woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools
- Skilled in using hand tools including chisels, saws, hammers, screwdrivers, and measuring equipment
- Excellent attention to detail with strong measuring, cutting, and assembly skills
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Desirable Experience
- Experience manufacturing upholstery furniture frames
- Knowledge of traditional joinery techniques
- Experience working with hardwoods
- Antique furniture restoration or reproduction experience Training Provided
