People Solutions are currently recruiting for a confident and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our well-established client based in Wigan. This is a fantastic opportunity offering stable working hours and a supportive team environment.
Shifts: Monday – Friday 6:00am - 3:00pm
Annual Salary: £36,000 - £42,000 dependant on experience

Day-to-Day Duties:
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician, you will assist in the continuous smooth running of the manufacturing plant. Your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Provide hands-on technical support across mechanical and electrical control equipment
- Lead and coordinate all site maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations
- Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules
- Lead daily maintenance activities, prioritising planned and reactive work
- Diagnose and resolve equipment faults quickly to minimise production downtime
- Manage contractors and ensure work is completed to the required standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
- Drive reliability improvements and reduce downtime in a production environment
- Conduct root cause analysis investigations and provide continuous improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively with production teams to optimize performance
- Support and develop maintenance team members
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and environmental standards
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in a maintenance role within manufacturing, chemical or process industries
- Proactive and hands-on approach
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
- Safety-focused mindset
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to research and source equipment, parts and spares
- Continuous improvement driven
- Confident with using computers to keep and update maintenance records
Desirable Experience:
- Electrical and electronic experience
