People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our well-established client based in the Swindon area. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.
To be considered for this role, you MUST have a minimum of 24 months of continuous commercial driving experience.
Shifts: Working 5 days out of 7 (ROTA PROVIDED) Start times from 7am, 8am and 11am
Pay rates: £17.18 - £34.36 per hour

Rates of Hourly Pay (PAYE):
- Basic: £17.18
- Overtime after eight hours: £25.77
- Saturday: £25.77
- Sunday: £34.36
- Bank Holiday: £34.36
Day to Day Duties: Your duties as a HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver will involve but not be limited to:
- Delivering most building materials and home interior improvements products (not bathrooms and kitchens)
- Operate and drive various Class 2 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
- Operating a HIAB/lorry-mounted crane safely and efficiently
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
- Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
- Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Assist with loading and unloading of cargo as needed
Essential Skills: As a HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver you will need to:
- Must be able to work as a team
- Have a minimum of 24 months continuous experience driving Category C vehicles
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
- HIAB (ALLMI) Qualification Card
- Must be able to use PDA (personal digital assistant)
- Hold a valid UK Category C Licence
- Hold a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
- Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
- Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
- Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience: Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial. Previous experience with multi drop deliveries will be beneficial.
Training: Six-hour online training must be completed before attending assessment. Driver's Assessment will have to be completed. After successful Assessment, there will be on-the-job training.
