People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham, West Midlands. This role would also suit candidates who have previously worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver, Tramper Driver, HGV Driver, or Class 1 Trunking Driver.
Shifts- Night Shifts
- Monday to Friday
- One in four Sundays required
- Start times between 16:00 – 17:00

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Completing Class 1 trunking work to regional distribution centres and customer locations
- Carrying out up to a maximum of three drops per shift to known destinations
- Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
- Conducting pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly before transport
- Adhering to all UK traffic laws and transport regulations
- Communicating effectively with the transport office and site teams
- Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
- Assisting with loading and unloading when required
- Completing all delivery paperwork and documentation accurately
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
- A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
- A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences
- No major endorsement codes
- A valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- Good spoken and written English
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping skills
- A strong understanding of UK road traffic laws and drivers' hours regulations
- Good communication and professional driving skills
Previous Class 1 trunking or RDC delivery experience would be advantageous. Previous experience working night shifts within a transport environment.
Training ProvidedDriver assessment required before starting. Two-week paid induction following successful assessment. Ongoing industry-related training and support provided.
