People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Garretts Green, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression. This position is ideal for applicants who have worked in a previous position as a LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts:
- Working Monday to Friday
- Start times between 03:00 and 07:00
Rates of Pay:
- £16.25 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties: As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Carrying out RDC or trunking work (curtain-side, no handball required)
- Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
- Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required
Essential Skills: To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
- A valid UK Category CE licence
- A minimum of twelve months' experience driving CE vehicles
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
- A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
- Good spoken and written English
- Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
- A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience:
- Previous commercial driving experience
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training Provided: Drivers will have a short assessment before any shift.
