People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established drinks distributor operating across the Home Counties and Greater London, for experienced and reliable HGV Class 2 Drivers / Draypersons. This role is based out of the Aylesbury depots and offers a great opportunity to join a friendly, well-run business delivering drinks to pubs, bars, restaurants, and hotels. You'll be working a 4-day week (Tuesday to Friday), giving you a strong work-life balance alongside a stable, long-term position.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you'll be out on the road, meeting customers, and making sure deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and to a high standard of service. This role would suit applicants who have worked in a role as an LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or Lorry Driver.
Shifts:
- Tuesday – Friday (40 Hours a week)
- Start Time: From 5:00am (depending on route)
- Overtime: Regularly available
Pay Rate: £38,500 per annum
Day to Day Duties:
- As a HGV Class 2 Driver / Drayperson you will be responsible for delivering drinks products to hospitality venues across the region.
- Working closely with a driver's mate who will support you with deliveries, help handle goods, and assist on-site to ensure drops are completed safely and efficiently.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and safe loading of goods.
- Following delivery schedules and route planning.
- Delivering kegs, cases, and bottles safely and efficiently.
- Completing delivery paperwork, returns, and collections accurately.
- Returning empties such as kegs, cases, and gas bottles.
- Working safely at all times, including manual handling and cellar deliveries.
- Maintaining a smart and professional appearance in uniform.
Essential Skills:
- A valid UK Category C licence.
- A minimum of two years' experience driving Category C vehicles.
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes.
- A valid UK CPC card and Digi card.
- A good level of spoken and written English.
- Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills.
- A good understanding of traffic laws and regulations.
- Strong communication skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude.
