HGV Class 1 Driver – Nights – Swindon
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our busy client based in Swindon.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
This role is ideal for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for consistent night work. The role is travelling from Swindon to Coventry, drop and reload then return to site.
This role would suit applicant who have previously worked in a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or an Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts:
• Monday to Friday
• 20:30 – finish
Pay Rate:
• £18.25 per hour (Monday to Friday)

Day-to-Day Duties:
Your duties as an HGV Class 1 Driver will include:
• Class 1 deliveries and trunking work
• Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Essential Skills:
To be successful in this role as an HGV Class 1 Driver you will need:
• Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• Minimum of twelve months' experience driving CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
• Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
• Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
• Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience:
• Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
Training:
• Driver assessment required prior to starting
