Job Description
HGV Class 1 Night Driver
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Night Driver to join our well-established client based in Walsall, West Midlands.
This is a fantastic opportunity, offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday: start times 8pm
Rates of pay:
- Nights: Β£18.00 per hour

Day-to-day duties:
As a HGV Class 1 Night Driver, your duties will include (but not be limited to):
- Simple 1 stop trunking (no handball required)
- Same run nightly
- Operating and driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
- Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required
Essential skills:
To be successful as a HGV Class 1 Night Driver, you will need:
- A valid UK Category CE licence
- A minimum of twelve months experience driving CE vehicles
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
- A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
- Good spoken and written English
- Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
- A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
Desirable experience:
- Previous commercial driving experience
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training:
- Driver's assessment must be completed before starting
- A one-day paid induction will follow successful assessment
