People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Manchester, Newton Heath. This is an excellent temp-to-perm opportunity offering great rates of pay, consistent work, and a professional working environment throughout the busy peak period.
This role would suit applicants who have previously worked in a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts:
- Overtime available
- £19.94 per hour
- £21.38 per hour for hours worked between 22:00 – 04:00
- Free on-site parking
- Weekly pay
- On-site canteen and vending machines
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Safely and efficiently operating Category CE vehicles
- Delivering food products to RDCs
- Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Completing deliveries in a timely and professional manner
- Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or issues
- Complying with all driving regulations and working time directives
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
- A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
- A minimum of one year's experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver
- A valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- More than one year of Class 1 driving experience
Training:
- Ongoing support from the transport and recruitment team
- Full briefing on site procedures and delivery routes
