People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in the Tamworth, Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay, stability, and ongoing development within a professional working environment. Shifts: Monday – Friday | Start Times Between 03:00 and 07:00 (flexibility required) Pay Rate : £17.00 – £25.18 per hour Benefits: • Excellent hourly rates • Ongoing, reliable work • Weekly pay • Paid training and induction • Supportive transport team and great facilities Rates of Pay • Basic: £17.00 per hour • Saturday: £19.14 per hour • Sunday: £25.18 per hour Day-to-Day Duties • Carry out 2–3 depot-to-depot trunking runs per shift (no handball – curtain-sider work) • Drive Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations • Complete daily vehicle checks before and after each shift • Ensure all loads are secure and comply with transport regulations • Communicate effectively with the transport office and customers • Report any vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly Essential Skills • Valid UK Category CE Licence • Minimum 12 month\’s experience driving CE vehicles • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements (no major endorsements) • Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card • Strong understanding of UK traffic laws and regulations • Excellent communication and timekeeping skills • Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism at all times Desirable Experience • Previous commercial driving experience • Experience with multi-drop or trunking operations Training Provided • Driver assessment required prior to start • One-day paid induction following successful assessment Contact: If you\’re a skilled and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver looking for a long-term role with excellent pay and consistent hours, apply today by clicking the link below or contact our recruitment team for more information.
