People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Carlisle, Cumbria. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, weekly pay and immediate starts with a well-established transport operation.
This role is ideal for experienced drivers looking for consistent afternoon shift work with trailer swap and drop duties. This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver, Truck Driver or Category CE Driver.
Rates of Pay:
- £16.00 per hour – Monday to Friday
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday
- Afternoon start time: 12:30

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Completing Class 1 trailer swap and drop runs
- Operating Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
- Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all trailers and loads are secured correctly
- Adhering to all UK traffic laws and transport regulations
- Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
- Assisting with loading and unloading where required
- Completing paperwork accurately and on time
Essential Skills:
- Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
- Minimum 12 months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
- Valid Driver CPC Card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences
- No major endorsement codes
- Good spoken and written English
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
- Strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
- Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
- Previous trailer swap and drop experience
Training Provided:
- Driver assessment required prior to starting
- One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
- Ongoing industry-related training and support
