Job Description HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER – MULTI-DROP – Chesterfield -

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Chesterfield .

Earn up to £23.00 per hour | Monday to Friday | Weekly Pay | Ongoing Work | Weekend Overtime Available | Immediate Starts

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for long-term progression within a well-established logistics operation.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category C+E Driver, CE Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver, Tramper Driver or Multi-Drop Driver .

  • Monday to Friday (Weekend work available)
  • AM start times between 04:00 – 08:00
  • Rates of Pay
  • £19.00 per hour – Monday to Friday
  • £21.50 per hour – Saturday
  • £23.00 per hour – Sunday
  • Weekly Pay

  • As an HGV Class 1 Driver , your duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Completing Class 1 multi-drop deliveries safely and efficiently
  • Operating Category C+E vehicles in line with company and DVSA regulations
  • Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all loads are secure prior to departure
  • Maintaining accurate delivery paperwork and Digital Tachograph records
  • Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
  • Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver , you will need

  • A valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence
  • A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
  • A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  • A good understanding of UK road traffic laws and Driver Hours Regulations
  • Strong communication skills

Desirable Experience

  • Previous commercial Class 1 driving experience
  • Previous multi-drop delivery experience
  • Experience working within a fast-paced logistics environment
  • Training Provided
  • Driver assessment required prior to starting
  • One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
  • Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
