People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Sheet Metal Guillotine Operator, Metal Cutting Operative, or Fabrication Machine Operator in Govan, Glasgow to join our well-established client based in Govan, Glasgow. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and long-term career progression.

Shifts

  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:45
  • Friday: 08:00 – 15:00

Rates of Pay

  • Up to £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Sheet Metal Guillotine Operator, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Operating guillotine machinery, including Amada
  • Cutting sheet metal as part of the manufacturing process
  • Working from technical drawings and job specifications
  • Using hand and power tools
  • Measuring materials accurately to ensure quality and precision
  • Following internal processes and health and safety procedures

Essential Skills

  • Experience within sheet metal, fabrication, or manufacturing
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Physically able to handle and manoeuvre metal sheets

Desirable Experience

  • Previous guillotine machine experience
  • Experience working with aluminium, pre-coat sheet and stainless steel
  • Counterbalance forklift licence preferred but not essential

Training Provided

  • On-the-job training and ongoing support
