Environmental Chemist (Waste Management) Hours:
Monday to Friday 40 hours per week – there will be a shift pattern therefore flexibility to work AM and PM shifts is essential.
Salary:
£28,000 – £30,160 per annum dependant on experience Plus shift allowance when working PM shift. What\’s in it for me:

As a
Environmental Chemist (Waste Management)
your duties will include (but not be limited to): Accept and inspect incoming hazardous and non-hazardous waste in line with permits and legislation. Verify consignment and Duty of Care paperwork for accuracy and compliance. Conduct safety checks before waste acceptance and complete sampling for analysis. Record waste acceptance, routing and non-conformances using the
SAP system . Segregate, label and store waste safely according to compatibility and environmental permits. Support waste processing activities – bulking, sorting, and repacking as required. Collaborate with chemists, site operatives and management to maintain operational efficiency. Promote high standards of health, safety, and environmental awareness across the site. Essential skills:
To be successful as an Environmental Chemist , you will need: HNC, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or related field
– essential. Previous experience in
waste management, chemical handling, or environmental services
– desirable. Working knowledge of
hazardous waste regulations, COSHH, and environmental compliance . Confident interpreting technical data, safety documentation, and inspection reports. Hands-on approach and willingness to work outdoors in an operational environment. Desirable experience: IT literacy (SAP experience advantageous but not essential).
