People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our well-established client based in Enfield. This is a fantastic opportunity offering competitive rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
Shifts
- Rota basis Sunday to Friday
- Start times between 18:00 and 06:00
Rates of Pay
- £21.50 per hour (basic hours)
- Overtime and weekend rates from £24.07 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
- Shunting 45ft and double-deck trailers onto allocated bays
- Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently as required
- Carrying out daily yard checks in line with site rules and health and safety guidelines
- Ensuring all trailers and loads are positioned safely and correctly
- Adhering to all traffic laws and site regulations
- Communicating effectively with transport and warehouse teams (radio use essential)
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Covering trunking routes when required
Essential Skills
- Valid UK Category CE driving licence
- Minimum of 2 years' experience driving and shunting
- Valid Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
- Good spoken and written English
- Punctual with strong time-keeping skills
- Good understanding of traffic laws and site safety rules
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced transport or logistics environment
Training Provided
- Driver assessment must be completed before starting
