People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Steel Delivery Driver to join our well-established client based in Kingswinford, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, weekly pay and immediate starts with a well-established business. This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as a Steel Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, Steel Delivery Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Rates of Pay:

  • £17.50 - £19.00 per hour DOE

Shifts:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Start times between 04:00 - 07:00

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Delivering steel products safely and efficiently
  • Operating and driving Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles
  • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
  • Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues to management
  • Assisting with loading and unloading where required
  • Completing paperwork accurately and on time

Essential Skills:

  • Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
  • Minimum 18 months' experience driving Category CE vehicles
  • Valid Driver CPC Card
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
  • No major endorsement codes
  • Mandatory previous experience transporting steel
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Strong understanding of load security and road safety
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience driving commercial vehicles
  • Experience securing steel loads

Training Provided:

  • Industry-related training provided
  • Ongoing support throughout the assignment
