People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our busy and well-established client based in Swindon. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work and genuine opportunities for growth and progression within a successful transport operation.

Working as part of a professional driving team, you will be responsible for delivering goods safely and efficiently to businesses and building sites while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance.

Rates of Pay:

  • £16.00 per hour

Shift Pattern:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Start times between 04:30 and 06:00
  • Working until job finish

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Carrying out deliveries to businesses and building sites
  • Operating curtain-side Class 2 vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Completing pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant with safety regulations
  • Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
  • Assisting with loading and unloading when required
  • Undertaking heavy lifting when required

Essential Skills:

  • A minimum of twelve months' Category C driving experience
  • A valid UK Category C Driving Licence
  • A valid UK CPC Card
  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences
  • No major endorsement codes
  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
  • A good understanding of road traffic laws and regulations

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous commercial driving experience
  • Multi-drop delivery experience

Training:

  • A driver assessment prior to starting
  • A full paid induction on your first day
