People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Carlisle, Cumbria. This is a fantastic opportunity offering up to £17.00 per hour, Monday to Friday working, ongoing assignments, weekly pay, overtime opportunities, immediate starts, paid induction, and genuine long-term opportunities with a leading logistics business.
This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver, Category C+E Driver, Class 1 Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver, Trunk Driver.
Shifts: Monday to Friday AM starts between 04:00-06:00
Rates of Pay: £20.00 per hour (Days)

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Completing trunking depot-to-depot deliveries with occasional store deliveries
- Operating Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
- Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations
- Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company procedures
- Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
- Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Essential Skills:
- A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) Driving Licence
- A minimum of six months' Category C+E driving experience
- A valid Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences
- No DR10, DG10, IN10, or TT99 endorsement codes
- Good spoken and written English
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
- A good understanding of UK road traffic legislation
- Strong communication skills
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience driving commercial Category C+E vehicles
- Previous trunking experience would be advantageous
- Previous RDC or store delivery experience would be beneficial
Training Provided:
- Driver assessment required prior to starting
- One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
- Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
