Class 1 Driver in Motherwell

LGV1 Driver required, starting week commencing 19th May

Working 4 shifts over 7 on a rotating shift pattern

Start times vary between 10:00 – 16:45 depending on your rota for the week

People Solutions are looking for an LGV1 Driver for our client based in Motherwell.

As a LGV1 Driver you will receive the following benefits:

• Opportunity for a Permanent contract with the client
• Know your working rota seven weeks in advance
• Weekly pay
• This is a PAYE vacancy so holiday pay accrued separately
• Site canteen
• Two days training provided and will then be buddies up with an experienced drivers for minimum of three shifts

Rates of Pay:

• Basic: £17.36 per hour
• Overtime £22.57
• Saturday £26.47
• Sunday £29.78

Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a LGV1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

• Loading and delivering clothes rails to 2 -3 stores per shift
• Operate and drive various LGV1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from high street deliveries
• Conduct daily vehicle checks
• Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers

Essential Skills

As an LGV1 Driver you will need to:

• Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
• Have a minimum of 2 years experience driving CE vehicles
• No more than 6 penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
• Have a valid UK CPC Card & UK Digi Card
• Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
• Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
• Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience

• Experience in distribution or retail deliveries is an advantage

Training

• Driver\’s Assessment will have to be completed followed by a two-day paid induction
• Minimum of three training shifts with an experienced driver
