CLASS 1 DRIVER

SHIFTS AND START TIMES TO SUITE

£16.50 PER HOUR MONDAY TO FRIDAY DAYS 06:00-18:00

£17.50 PER HOUR MONDAY TO FRIDAY NIGHTS 18:00-06:00

£18.75 SATURDAYS ALL DAY

£20.00 SUNDAYS ALL DAY

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in ASTON, WEST MIDLANDS.

Day to Day Duties

Your duties as a Class 1 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

  • RDC or customer deliveries which may include self tip for particular RDC\'S
  • Operating and driving various Class 1 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
  • Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo as needed
  • Completing any paperwork

Essential Skills

As a Class 1 Driver you will need to:

  • Hold a valid UK Category CE Licence
  • Have a minimum of 12 months experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
  • Have a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
  • Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
  • Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
  • Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience

  • Experience driving any commercial vehicles
  • Previous experience conducting multi drop deliveries will be beneficial

Training

  • Paid induction to be completed and ongoing support throughout
