People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Night Driver to join our well-established client based in Gloucester. This is a fantastic opportunity, offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
Shifts: Monday to Friday: start times between 16:30 and 18:00
Rates of pay:
- Basic: £17.00 per hour
- Overtime: £25.50 per hour

Day-to-day duties:
- Carrying out collections and deliveries.
- Loading and unloading with an FLT (full training and licence provided)
- Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
- Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required
Essential skills:
- A valid UK Category CE licence
- A minimum of 24 months' experience driving CE vehicles
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
- A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
- Good spoken and written English
- Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
- A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
Desirable experience:
- Previous commercial driving experience
- Previous RDC delivery experience
Training: Driver's assessment must be completed before starting. FLT training (paid and licence paid for by client).
