People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Capstan Setter / Operator to join our well-established engineering client based in Wolverhampton on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Capstan Setter, Machine Setter, Lathe Operator, Production Machinist, or similar engineering professional looking for a stable, permanent position offering day shifts, an early Friday finish, and excellent holiday entitlement.
Rates of Pay: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum, depending on experience
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Setting and operating Capstan lathes
- Setting tooling and machinery ready for production
- Producing components accurately and efficiently
- Reading and working from engineering drawings and specifications
- Adjusting machine settings and tooling where required
- Using measuring equipment to check finished components
- Working accurately to required tolerances and quality standards
- Identifying and resolving machining or tooling issues
- Monitoring production to ensure consistent quality
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Essential Skills:
- Previous experience setting and operating Capstan lathes
- Experience within an engineering, machining, or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Good knowledge of tooling and machine setting
- Experience using measuring equipment
- Ability to work accurately to tolerances
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- A reliable and proactive approach to work
Desirable Experience:
- Previous experience as a Capstan Setter
- Previous experience as a Machine Setter
- Previous experience as a Lathe Operator
- Previous experience as a Production Machinist
- Experience working within a precision engineering environment
- Additional machining experience would be advantageous
