People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in West Bromwich, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression. This role would suit applicants who have previously worked in a role as a LGV Class 2 Driver, Category C Driver or Lorry Driver.

Shifts: Working any 5 nights out of 7. Start times between 01:00 and 03:00.

Rates of Pay: £15.87 per hour.

Day-to-Day Duties: As a HGV Class 2 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting supermarket deliveries (handball required – modern cages with wheels)
  • Operating and driving Category C vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
  • Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
  • Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
  • Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required

Essential Skills: As a HGV Class 2 Driver, you will need:

  • A valid UK Category C licence
  • A minimum of twelve months' experience driving Category C vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
  • A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
  • A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills

Desirable Experience: Previous experience as a HGV Class 2 Driver. Previous multi-drop delivery experience.

Training: Driver's assessment must be completed before starting. A one-day paid induction will follow successful assessment.
