People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Category Account Manager in FMCG to join our well-established client based in Aston, Birmingham on a full-time permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity, offering an excellent annual salary, great benefits, and genuine opportunities for career progression.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday: 8:30am - 5pm
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum - depending on experience

Day-to-day Duties:
- Commercial & Account Management: Own P&L performance for your product category and customer portfolio; Deliver sales, margin and gross profit in line with budget; Manage pricing, promotions, range reviews and forecasting; Develop strong relationships with retail customers and suppliers.
- Category Strategy & Data: Analyse market, consumer and category data (e.g. Kantar); Identify trends and growth opportunities; Lead customer category reviews and present insights; Build category plans including NPD, promotions and merchandising.
- New Product Development (NPD): Identify and develop new product and packaging concepts; Manage NPD projects from idea through to launch.
- Customer & Supplier Management: Lead negotiations on promotional pricing and budgets; Prepare proposals and presentations for customers and senior leadership; Support PR activity with trade and retail partners; Host customer and supplier visits (UK & overseas travel required).
Essential Skills:
- Proven FMCG Account Management or Category Management experience
- Strong commercial and financial awareness
- Excellent data analysis and forecasting skills
- Confident negotiator and presenter
- Experience working with retail customers (own label ideal)
- Strong stakeholder management across multiple departments
- Comfortable managing people and influencing internally and externally
Training: Full training will be provided, with ongoing development support.
