People Solutions are currently recruiting for an Assistant Transport Manager to join our well-established client based in Tankersley, Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, long-term ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for career progression. This role would also be suitable for candidates with experience as a Transport Clerk, Logistics Administrator, Transport Operations Assistant, or within other transport and logistics environments.

Shifts:

  • Monday to Thursday 09:30 – 17:30
  • Friday 09:30 – 18:00

Rates of Pay:

£32,718.40 per annum

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Supporting the Transport Manager in the completion of daily driver pre-briefs and de-briefs, ensuring high standards of customer service and driver compliance with all operational processes
  • Carrying out several of the Transport Manager's duties during periods of holiday cover
  • Liaising extensively with external service providers to ensure full vehicle and driver compliance is maintained

Essential Skills:

  • Good geographical knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous experience working in traffic or logistics is preferred
  • IT literate with a high level of competence in Excel

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience within the transport industry

Training:

  • Assessment required prior to the first shift
  • Full industry-related training provided, with ongoing support throughout your assignment
