People Solutions is recruiting an HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver – Poole to join our well-established client based in the Poole area. This is an excellent opportunity with competitive pay, ongoing work, overtime, and long-term career progression in a supportive transport environment.
Candidates with experience as a Class 2 HIAB Driver, LGV Class 2 Driver, HIAB Driver, Category C Driver, Multi Drop Driver, or Lorry Loader Driver are also suitable. Applicants must have a minimum of 24 months continuous Category C driving experience.
Shifts: 5 days out of 7 (rota provided) Start times from 07:00am Average finish times around 16:00pm Ongoing full-time work.
Rates of Pay – PAYE
As an HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver, you will receive:
- Deliver building materials and home improvement products to customer locations
- Operate Category C vehicles safely and efficiently
- Operate a HIAB/lorry-mounted crane safely and effectively
- Carry out vehicle checks before and after each shift
- Ensure all loads are secured correctly before transport
- Adhere to all traffic laws and transport regulations
- Use PDA systems to manage deliveries and paperwork
- Communicate effectively with transport teams and customers
- Report any vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
- Assist with loading and unloading where required
Qualifications
- A valid UK Category C Driving Licence
- A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- A valid HIAB (ALLMI) Qualification Card
- Minimum 24 months continuous Class 2 driving experience
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
- No major endorsement codes
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good spoken and written English
- Good timekeeping and punctuality
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Confidence using PDA systems
- Previous commercial driving experience beneficial
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience advantageous
- Previous experience delivering building materials desirable
Training Provided
- Six‑hour online training completed prior to assessment
- Driver assessment required before starting
- On‑the‑job training following successful assessment
- Ongoing industry‑related training and support
