People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Ballieston. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay and genuine opportunities for growth and progression. This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Day-to-Day Duties

  • Delivery of goods from store to home and trunking work
  • Operating Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Ensuring all loads are secure before transport
  • Adhering to traffic laws and driving regulations
  • Communicating effectively with dispatch teams and customers
  • Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly

Requirements

  • Valid UK Category CE Licence
  • Minimum of 24 months' experience driving CE vehicles
  • No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
  • Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Excellent punctuality and time-keeping skills
  • Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Previous commercial driving experience
  • Multi-drop delivery experience

Training Provided

  • Driver assessment required (including theory test)
  • One-week paid induction following a successful assessment
