People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.
Shifts:
- Days: Monday - Friday 04:*******:00
- Nights: 20:*******:00
Rates of pay:
- DAYS - Monday to Friday - ***** per hour
- Saturday: ***** per hour
- Sunday: ***** per hour
- NIGHTS - Sunday to Thursday: ***** per hour
- Friday Nights: ***** per hour
- Saturday Nights: ***** per hour

Day-to-day duties:
- Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
- Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured properly
- Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required
Essential skills:
- A valid UK Category C+E licence
- A minimum of 12 month's experience driving C+E vehicles
- No more than six penalty points for minor infringements, with no major endorsement codes
- A valid UK CPC card and Digi card
- Good spoken and written English
- Punctuality and excellent time-keeping skills
- A solid understanding of traffic laws and regulations
- Effective communication skills
Desirable experience:
- Previous commercial driving experience
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training:
- Driver's assessment must be completed before starting
- A paid induction will follow successful assessment
